Singapore Biennale 2019 finale highlights | The A List
The Singapore Biennale 2019 marks its closing weekend this week with free admission, fresh experiences and new performances. And whether you are well and out or staying in at home, you can join in the fun. Here are our top picks from the Biennale finale programme:
The Great Gillman Barracks Hunt
This free scavenger hunt will have participants solving puzzles and tasks using clues from works of art on show in the Singapore Biennale. The hunt will span Blocks 7, 9 and 22 in Gillman Barracks, one of the 11 Singapore Biennale locations. Winners of the hunt will receive a special token.
Singapore Biennale Tour With Edmund Chen
Experience the Singapore Biennale through the eyes of actor Edmund Chen as he takes you on an hour-long bilingual tour of the exhibition and share about his favourite works in the show. The tour will be held at the National Gallery Singapore and it is free with registration.
En/Un/Re/Multi Fold: Dance Performance By Lasalle College of the Arts
See how origami folds and the principles that underlie the paper art come to life through dance in this performance by Lasalle College of the Arts. The performance, streamed live from the National Gallery Singapore auditorium, will feature students from Lasalle’s diploma of fashion and dance programmes.
Unexpected Sounds – Reimagining The Erhu
Tune in to this livestreamed performance of erhu music by actor and musician Ayden Sng for a fresh take on the traditional Chinese stringed instrument. You might go away from the remote listening party, streamed live from the National Gallery Singapore, with newfound respect for the instrument’s versatility.
