City Hall: If Walls Could Talk in Verse
Explore Singapore’s past with six poets as they reimagine stories of the City Hall in the island’s official languages. As the nation commemorates a historical milestone, the featured poets seek to uncover a lost or forgotten cultural treasure trove as they gain a greater understanding of the conserved monument’s rich history. Audience members are invited to set off on their own journey to mine their own past, consider facets of their identity and consider how integral civic culture, as represented by the City Hall, is to the island’s flourishing.
This session is co-presented with Poetry Festival Singapore, in conjunction with City Hall: If Walls Could Talk, an exhibition by National Gallery Singapore.
