$23 Schools (Primary and Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges and Centralised Institute) For every 20 student tickets purchased per performance, one complimentary teacher ticket will be issued. For every 100 tickets purchased to the same show title, five additional complimentary tickets will be issued for the same production. The complimentary offer is only available for purchases made in a single transaction for the same show title. Tote Board Arts Grant Schools are able to use the Tote Board Arts grant subsidy of up to 50% of the ticket price. A theatre performance featuring elements of puppetry, My Friend, A Japanese Soldier is based on true stories collected from the National Archives of Singapore and it is a powerful drama about survival and courage in times of war. The story is set in Singapore during World War II and revolves around an unlikely friendship between a Japanese soldier and a local boy, which raises suspicions amongst the locals.

My Friend, A Japanese Soldier will help students gain a greater awareness and understanding of the period when Singapore was under Japanese rule during World War II, learn to see things from various perspectives and foster empathy.
