Cool Classics returns with an exciting line-up comprising a host of Singapore’s brightest musicians who will showcase the diverse colours of classical music from both East and West. From violin-piano duo Siew Yi Li & Victor Ong to harp quartet La Vie En Harpe, the court music of Malaya with Sri Setia Pulau Singa to guzheng classics with Yvonne Tay, discover a new side to the classics with us this Feb!
Celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of wind and brass music with six Singapore bands and ensembles of different configurations in the third edition of Band Weekend, happening from 5–7 Feb. Then, wander into the magical world of operatic arias and art songs from the 17th to 20th century with The Opera People as they present a variety of specially curated vocal programmes from 8–10 Feb.
Join pianist Renu Suresh as she explores the expressions of Western and Indian classical music through three intimate duets with musician friends Aditi Gopinathan (vocals), Thayapari Niranjan (veena) and her son Shiv Darshan Suresh (violin), taking place from 11–13 Feb.
The Spectrum platform pushes the envelope, beginning with B-L (Piano) Duo as they step out of their comfort zones, exchanging piano for electric keyboards, melodicas and the power of their voice. Also not to be missed—Edmund Song defies expectations of the double bass, elevating the low rumbling instrument to the forefront of his performance.
