在淡马锡雨树下的皮影戏 （The Wayang Kulit Which Is Under The Rain Tree At Temasek)
Wayang Kulit is a traditional puppetry art form found in the Malay archipelago. The traditional art uses wooden puppets to tell folklores & myths, with the gamalan music as its background. Singaporean poet & academic, Professor Wong Yoon Wah wrote a group poem with the main title as Wayang Kulit. The group poem consists of the following:
1. The Birth of The Puppet
2. The Shadow’s Family Background
3. Self-Talk Of The Puppet
4. What Became Of The Shadow
Professor Wong will give a talk on how this poem came about & give a deep insight behind the poetic meanings.
The talk is hosted by Association Of Composers (Singapore) & library@esplanade. It will be shown on library@esplanade’s Facebook on 15th May 2021 between 3pm-4pm. The talk will be in Chinese.
