Art as therapy

The first quarter of the year is done and dusted, and you are looking to recover from the hectic first few months. We feel you.

Whether you are looking for a quick pick-me-up, a cathartic experience, or a break from the humdrum, take a leaf from Pablo Picasso, who once said: “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

For ideas on how you can recharge by channelling your inner Picasso, we have shortlisted three types of arty workshops below. The icing on the cake – you can use the art you make.

Wear your feelings

Pour out your feelings on canvas at an art jamming studio and take it further by painting on T-shirts and tote bags instead of the regular stretched canvas. No experience or skills are needed.

If you are looking for an artful way to help you stay focused and in the present moment, try your hand at wheel throwing. Should you not be ready to commit to a multi-session course, opt for a trial class where the atmosphere is likely to be more relaxed.

Care for your body

Self-care doesn’t have to be for the soul only. A soap-making class, where you get to express yourself through dyes, fragrances and artful techniques, allows you to nourish your mind and soul, and the hand-made bars of soap you take home will soothe your body.

We can’t wait to share more awesome content with you. This is going to be so much fun.
