5 highlights from Arts In Your Neighbourhood: Bukit Panjang | The A List
The arts are taking over neighbourhoods this month, from 12 to 29 March. More than 40 family-friendly activities, including theatre, dance and music performances, will take place in 15 locations across the island.
The events are part of the National Arts Council’s Arts in Your Neighbourhood initiative, which works with partners to encourage people to appreciate the arts in their everyday lives. This edition of the programme will spotlight Bukit Panjang, with almost half of the activities taking place in the estate.
Here are five not-to-be-missed arts events taking place in Bukit Panjang this month:
For the thrill-seeker
Back Of The Bus
This is one bus ride you won’t forget. This moving dance-theatre show unfolds on a bus touring Bukit Panjang, with dancers performing among audiences seated on the bus. Don’t be surprised if you find dancers suspended from bus handles or swinging along the aisles. Book your tickets to Back of the Bus here.
UPDATE: In view of the escalating COVID-19 situation, please be informed that all remaining shows of Back Of The Bus will be cancelled (19, 20, 21, 22 March). Tickets will be refunded in full. Please contact the event organiser at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.

The show’s protagonist, Uncle Teong, a karung guni (rag-and-bone man), will bring to life stories about Bukit Panjang through everyday objects that denizens discard. Register to attend A Collection of Things here.
